Comment:

I had some exciting ideas about creating a wood and metal set that would break apart into large, dangerous-looking shards from geometric solids (based on the contrast between rationalism/Enlightenment thought and the concomitant barbarism of the witch trials). Unfortunately, the director eventually decided she wanted an empty set. It was around this time that I realized I would need to direct as well as design my own shows.
